Rockstar has just announced the delay of Grand Theft Auto VI. The game, which was scheduled for release in May 2026, will now be released on November 19, 2026.
Learn more about the GTA 6 delay in Rockstar’s official statement, posted on social media:
Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.
This means fans will have to wait longer to play the new game in the franchise. And at least it will give us more time to play our backlog games until GTA VI arrives on consoles. It also gives us more time to save up to buy the game at launch.
The game will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
