I’ll briefly comment on chapter 1157 of One Piece, which was on Manga Plus until this Sunday. The flashback involving the Rocks Pirates was quite interesting, but the chapter was, in a way, lukewarm, though important, as it kind of prepared the ground for the impactful moments that followed in subsequent chapters.
And in a way, Shakky became one of the main highlights of the chapter, with her arrival on the island. Citing more details about the character, which I found on a wiki:
Shakky previously served in the Kuja Pirates as First Officer to Gloriosa, her captain and empress of the Kuja tribe. Later, she succeeded Gloriosa as captain and empress of the Kuja Pirates, before being succeeded by Tritoma and Boa Hancock.
Shakky is known for having been pursued by the legendary marine Monkey D. Garp and for having been sought by the Roger Pirates.
And, of course, there’s the matter of the Rocks Pirates. I certainly think it would make a great spin-off if Oda supervised it, and have an extra One Piece anime running parallel to the current chapters. But for now, we can only speculate and comment further on these events.
