This week, some creators posted details about a Google Creators Summit in Google Plex in the USA. Danny Sullivan, the Google Search Liaison , is reportedly leading the summit, along with several members of the Google Search team.
The summit suggests that Google is once again listening to creators, and is likely focusing on smaller creators who may have been hit hard by their search algorithm updates.

Some creators even commented on social media about the meeting, and if I could be there, I would ask a series of questions, especially about the transparency that Google still lacks, especially with its “Search Console”. I was hit hard, but Google Discover, and it is here, and Google News, which are my key points at the moment, since I am the sole publisher and once again I stopped producing content because I no longer have the motivation to do so.
Since earning 30 cents a day from Adsense is still terrible. Hasn’t Google realized that by shutting down small portals from Discover they also lose money? We were helping them to continue earning money!!! If I earn 5 cents per click, Google earns 50 to 90 cents, or even more… but apparently they prefer advertisers to advertise directly in search, eliminating traffic from small portals.
Chech the questions, with suggestions to improvements to small publishers.
- The algorithm completely removes the portals from Google Discover, without providing any information about what they did wrong. Would you give feedback on why this happened to the site, with more precise information?
- And if I had this feedback, why not show what types of content the algorithm doesn’t want there, and we could adapt this and stop making certain posts, to make others.
- The algorithm eliminates the portal from Google Discover and I don’t see any more ways to get a response, or a review, unless I simply create a new site on another domain. So why not have a way to review the portal? And perhaps remove the articles that caused problems from the search?
- It’s been a whole year since you decimated the small sites, and you still tell us to keep producing relevant content. But how can we produce this content if we no longer have an audience and we’ve already had to lay off writers and other employees? Portals and companies are closing down because of your algorithm, which only has “core updates” 3 times a year…
- Why did you completely reverse the “modest gains” in reach in September? Do you really follow the hundreds of reports from publishers on social media and on SEO sites and forums? There are hundreds of them right here… it seems like the core update algorithm simply decided to have a complete rollback? This is cruel to content creators.
Google News and Google Search
- Several niche portals that regularly publish news on certain topics do not gain visibility since the articles only appear if the user searches for “recent date”. Why does this happen? Why don’t we have more accurate information in Search Console?
- For some keywords, we have 2 or 3 pages of results with only results in other languages, such as English. Why not prioritize according to the user’s geographic location? And thus show websites from that country first? Not all readers have knowledge of English.
- There are keywords that now only show posts from social networks, such as Instagram, Threads and also YouTube. There is no way to even compete with these results because they are on sites that have greater relevance in the algorithm.
These are some questions I would ask Google devs. I would like them to see my article and reflect on the fact that their algorithm continues to decimate portals around the world, with the algorithm only prioritizing large portals and Reddit.
Reddit, which now automatically translates topics into several languages and now ranks ahead of more elaborate articles. But it’s Reddit, right? With Reddit, any post will always rank ahead, even if it only has a few words in the topic.
Finally, don’t think that this article is about me not being invited, since it’s a meeting for editors from the US (and i living in Brazil). Google itself has held some events here in Brazil that we could even sign up for. This article is more about suggestions for improvements to provide more transparency. That’s basically it.
